MCMA "Of the Year Awards" Nomination Information

2005-2006 Journalist of the Year, Photojournalist of the Year Awards:
Applicants/nominees will be evaluated by the Journalist of the Year and Photojournalist of the Year committees on the first night of the convention, Friday, April 7. Applicant/nominee must be present to conduct an interview and be considered for the award.

To nominate someone on your staff or yourself, submit the following material by Friday, March 3 (postmark deadline):
* A complete resume
* Three samples of applicant/nominee's work on the campus newspaper, yearbook or magazine published in 2005
* A letter of recommendation from applicant/nominee's adviser or faculty supervisor
* A 500-word essay from the applicant/nominee describing why he/she would be a good candidate to receive such an award


2005-2006 Adviser of the Year Award:
MCMA's top award for outstanding advisers is the Adviser of the Year Award. Applicants/nominees will be evaluated by the Adviser of the Year Committee on the first night of the convention, Friday, April 7. Applicant/nominee must be present to conduct an interview and be considered for the award.

To nominate someone on your staff or yourself, submit the following material by Friday, March 3 (postmark deadline):
* A complete resume
* At least one issue of the publication advised from 2005
* List of accomplishments/honors as an adviser
* An essay written by the candidate describing his/her concept of the adviser's role in college media
